Recreation, Sport and Tourism Annual Fund

This fund allows for maximum flexibility for the department to address its most pressing needs.

RST 180 Travel Scholarship Fund

The RST 180 Travel Scholarship Fund supports experiential learning for students in the RST 180 courses. Sponsoring student travel expenses, exhibit entrance fees and more, this scholarship impacts students’ ability to participate in life-changing trips.

Recreation, Sport and Tourism Alumni Scholarship Fund

The Recreation, Sport and Tourism Alumni Scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding incoming or current students. This fund allows the department to recruit and retain talented students in the field.

Brightbill/Sapora Professorship in Recreation Fund

Awarded to a distinguished professor in Recreation, this fund supports the research and career of a full professor. Named for the first two Heads of the department, Charles K. Brightbill and Allen V. Sapora, this fund honors their legacy and impact on the field of Recreation, Sport and Tourism.

Joseph J. Bannon Directorship in the Office of Recreation and Park Resources Fund

The mission of the Office of Recreation and Park Services (ORPR) is to serve the people and communities of the state of Illinois. Dr. Joseph J. Bannon served as Head of the Office and assisted Illinois communities in establishing the inaugural state park districts.  This fund supports the Joseph J. Bannon Director, who continues to build and maintain professional networks to promote healthy communities today.
